Cool Stuff: GTA4
The Daddy of them all is here! Well.. not quite, to be precise its being released tomorrow, the latest addition to Rockstar Games’ acclaimed Grand Theft Auto series, boasting more features and power than ever before. The textures are smoother, the detail is greater, the cars are better, the people are more unique, the control interface has been updated and improved.
The most astonishing thing about the game really (from my point of view) is that out of 30 different gaming sites and gaming magazines, the LOWEST review that it has received so far is a 9.8/10 – and that includes IGN – who haven’t given a game a 10/10 in over a decade (that’s 10 years for any special people in the audience today).
Rumour has it that in the newest addition to the series you can beat people with almost any weapon imagineable, including a mess of wires and electrical components!
So without further a-do, take a look at the IGN video review.
Uncool Stuff
Some people go too far, much too far. You know who I’m talking about, the guy with the green civic and 93″ rims that are bigger than each of his windows, which, by the way, are completely blacked out. Then there’s the geeks… the geek realm of geekdom. Kids who just shouldnt really be allowed out of the house, or should be forced to get out of the house at a younger age before they turn into these wobbling monstrosities that speak in made up languages and watch programmes like Star Trek, which is essentially The O.C. but with a space ship and some really bad makeup. Now take this new keyboard from Saitek for example
What is that about?
I mean seriously, what person in their right mind would have that monstrosity sitting in front of their computer? I’ve seen some of these klingon keyboards before, and I just don’t get it! Come back to reality kids! Rather than messing about with tacky keyboards, think about a career, a life, maybe even a girlfriend!
If you need a keyboard then get yourself a nice wireless desktop setup, those are cool, or just a wired keyboard if you can’t be bothered with bluetooth and batteries.
Do not fall into the pit of geekdom, do not reside yourself to a life of anemia and malnutrition!
Summer is Coming – Get Your Beach On
Thats right guys, the UK is a very special place because we have to wait about an extra 2 months for the summer to kick in, and then autumn comes about 2 months early, giving us approximately 10 days of summer! Awsome.
Nevertheless, with only 10 days at your fingertips you want to make the absolute most of what time you have. For me, this means getting down to the beach, when there are only 10 potential days of women in bikini’s you really need to get an eyeful while you can. This is where your preparation comes in, if you want to ogle the ladies, you need to look good – don’t think they won’t notice you looking, they will, and when they look back, you want them to be impressed.
So without further a do, here are the top 10 things that you should do to prepare.
1. Sit-ups, every day, 20 in the morning, 30 in the evening
2. Pick up some new animal boardshorts
3. Push-ups, every day, 10 in the morning, 20 in the evening
4. Grab an O’Neil watch
5. Start eating a bit better, no more microwave or oven meals
6. Get some Quicksilver T-shirts
7. Learn to surf – do it while its cold so you’re actually good for summer
8. Buy any other surf clothes that look good and are comfortable
9. Learn to kitesurf – because the UK really does lack decent waves
10. Buy sunglasses, and get some decent ones this time.
Follow these simple steps and by the time its warm outside you’ll be ready to hit the beach with pride rather than shame.
*Additional Tip – Women love puppies, buy or borrow one.
Is Thorpe Park Really All That?
At Men’s Cool Stuff we’re always trying to tell you about the latest cool things, but when it comes to Thorpe Park I’m at a bit of a loss.. I’ve never been! I mean I’ve been to all sorts of company parties and event management ‘things’ at theme parks, sadly though, none of them were at Thorpe Park.
Now I see the advertisements for thorpe park on TV all the time, rollercosters, vertical drops, etc etc – and I wonder is it actually THAT good?
So this is a call out to all you people out there, tell me; should Thorpe Park be on the Mens Cool Stuff for 2008 list? Or should it be relegated to a far inferior list that is only slightly cool but doesnt quite make the cut to play in the same arena as the big boys?
Get in that comment box and let me know!
The best comment will get to write a guest post for Men’s Cool Stuff on why Thorpe Park is/isn’t cool!
Pimp Your Pad: Get Some Decent Furniture
We all know that the prime mehtod for pimping one’s pad is with furniture, and not just any furniture, but with prime leather sofas, a state of the art laz-y-boy chair, and some designer lamps that cost so much you had to sell your aunty patricia to be able to afford them.
Ideally you want something that screams ‘SEX’ the second you bring some girl home from a bar. Red, black, or cream leather is all very good, especially if it reclines – it just has that extra air of ‘money’ about it that the fickle sex seem to love so much. Not that I’m complaining, it just makes it all the more easier when it comes to pulling them. More furniture means I have to do less chatting up, more designer furniture means I have to do pretty much NO chatting up. Works like a charm every time.
Things to avoid:
Office furniture, wooden furniture, uncomfortable furniture, 80’s furniture, 20’s furniture, memorabilia, plastic furniture, cheap furniture, reception desks, cheap bar stools, anything in pink.
You’ve been warned!
